From Stockholm, Sweden

Christian Smith, born in Stockholm and raised mostly in Frankfurt, Germany, got his first pair of decks at 14 and entered DMC battle DJ championships before discovering house music in the late 1980s. He met fellow producer John Selway in 1993, then working at New York's Satellite Records, and the two began recording together as Smith & Selway, producing crossover hits including "Move!" on Intec.

In 1994 he founded the label Tronic while studying for his master's degree at the Stockholm School of Economics, and it's since grown into one of the world's top-selling techno labels, hosting a weekly radio show syndicated to more than 100 stations worldwide. He's released three solo albums, including 2016's Input-Output, and moved to São Paulo, Brazil, where he continues to play regularly.
