HD Mixtapes is an archival project preserving 1990s era DJ Mixtapes remastered from original tapes, DATs, and source material wherever possible.
HD Mixtapes began in 2020 as a way to share a collection of tapes built up over twenty years of digging. Most of this material has never appeared on streaming platforms and a meaningful portion exists nowhere else in playable form.
Every upload goes through a careful restoration process: noise reduction, gentle EQ work, channel-balance corrections, and where needed, physical tape repair including splicing and reassembly. No AI upscaling. No fake stereo. Just the original signal, preserved as faithfully as the medium allows.
The shop carries a rotating selection of mixtapes a few times each year - professionally duplicated original titles, each with a digital download code, alongside duplicate cassettes sourced from the collection itself.
