From San Francisco, California

Julius Papp was born and raised in Montreal, Canada, tuned into dance music through the city's club scene and radio broadcasts. He started buying records in the mid-70s and took to the turntables in 1985, moving to San Jose in the early 1990s, where he joined the jazz and funk scene through San Francisco's Mushroom Jazz parties alongside resident Mark Farina.

He began producing in 1994, starting with a downtempo acid jazz project, and went on to release across labels including King Street, Nervous Records, Large Music, and OM, as well as his own NeoDisco Music imprint. He was nominated for Most Innovative Producer at the 2004 House Music Awards.
