Josh Wink

Joshua Winkelman, known as Josh Wink, was born April 20, 1970, in Philadelphia, and got his start as an underage mobile DJ at 13 before helping foster the city's warehouse house scene as a teenager. His first EP, "Tribal Confusion," came out on Strictly Rhythm in 1990 under the name E-Culture, a collaboration with fellow Philadelphia producer King Britt, and in 1994 the two formed the label Ovum Recordings together.

In 1995 he released a run of tracks that carried him from the underground to international success, including "Don't Laugh" and "I'm Ready" as Winx and Size 9, and "Higher State of Consciousness," a Roland TB-303-driven acid house anthem that sold more than 500,000 copies and earned UK silver certification. He released his debut album, Left Above the Clouds, in 1996, and has remixed artists including Moby and Depeche Mode over a career spanning more than three decades.
