Biography
Ian Pinnekamp, known as Ian Pooley, was born in 1973 in Mainz, Germany, and began collecting records and DJing at 12, drawn early to the classic Detroit sound of Derrick May and Juan Atkins. With longtime friend DJ Tonka, he began recording as T'N'I for Force Inc, one of Germany's leading techno labels, and the two also recorded with Alec Empire before parting ways.
In 1998 he made his sole appearance on BBC Radio One's Essential Mix, and released the albums Meridian (1998) and Since Then (2000) through V2 Records before founding his own label, Pooled Music, in 2003. Known for house and tech house with a Brazilian influence, he's released on labels including NRK, Transmat, Plus 8, Innervisions, Rekids, and Ovum.
