Biography
Cornelius Ferguson, known as Traxman, is from Chicago's west side and one of the longest-serving producers in house and footwork, with releases stretching back to the ghetto house glory days of Dance Mania in the 1990s. He co-founded the Geto DJ's Inc. crew, is a member of DJ Rashad and DJ Spinn's Teklife crew, and founded the Tekk DJz crew, releasing music on labels including Planet Mu, Chiwax, and Lit City Trax.
He was also one of the creators of the legendary mixtapes on colored cassettes that became a prototype for juke and footwork's evolution, and is regarded as one of Chicago's most versatile and skilled DJs and crate-diggers, drawing on the city's deep soul, funk, and house history.
