Digs & Woosh

Rick "Digs" Down and Pete "Woosh" Birch co-founded the DiY Collective in Nottingham in 1989 alongside Harry Harrison and Simon "DK" Smith, building their own sound system and throwing free parties that helped define the UK's early free party movement. As the DJ duo Digs and Woosh, they played the collective's Serve Chilled nights and helped shape the deep house sound the DiY label became known for. Birch later founded the group Spirit Wrestlers and died of cancer on October 2, 2020.
